Welcome To CSC Health and Education Support

We recognize the need to shift health service delivery from a curative approach to a preventive one. Our projects thus focus especially on creating awareness regarding a wide range of health concerns along with providing curative relief to the most marginalized communities in Pakistan. The health status of Pakistan is characterized by a high population growth rate and high incidence of infant and maternal mortality rate. The poor outcome in health sector is mainly due to the ineffective delivery of services as well as the low spending on the health sector in Pakistan. Not only the spending on health sector is low, but also its allocation within the sector is directed to the areas that do not benefit the poor. Priority is given to hospitals, medical colleges, and curative services in urban areas. While, primary health care and rural health service have been ignored, which has led to a high rural-urban disparity in health care resulting in rapidly increasing poverty level in rural areas during the last decade.

The importance of community engagement has been recognized as a critical component of any successful public health strategy. Realizing that women and children are the most ignored individuals in underdeveloped societies, CSC with the cooperation of its partners initiated a number of projects covering primary health care, sexual reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS prevention. CSC has also focused on reducing myths and misconceptions in the perspective of religion about issues related to Reproductive Health through sensitization of religious leaders, key vulnerable communities, teachers, and other community leaders.

Education

Recognizing that education is key in the development of a country leading to sustainable development and a powerful tool by which socio-economically marginalized adults and children can lift themselves out of poverty and participate as economically contributing members of the society. CSC's programs target some of the most underserved and conservative regions of the country, advocating especially for the education of girls. CSC has established the Fatimah Jinnah Girls High School within the premises of Shahzada Rural Women Development Complex in 1995. Since then, it has been providing quality education to girls from the surrounding areas. The School Building comprises of 22 Rooms, 13 teachers and 350 students.

Education plays a key role in the Development of any country. It contributes to fostering peace, democracy, and economic growth as well as improving health and reducing poverty. Pakistan unfortunately lacks way behind in education. In rural areas, female education is further neglected. But CSC believes that a woman's social and economic situation can only be alleviated if she possesses the skills to do so. With this mission in mind, CSC moved forward to establish the Fatimah Jinnah Girls High School within the premises of Shahzada Rural Women Development Complex in 1995. Since then, it has been providing quality education to girls from the surrounding areas. The School Building comprises of 22 Rooms, 13 teachers and 350 students. Besides formal education, other vocational skills for income generation are not only provided, but encouraged. CSC provides full financial and technical support to the school management for its continued day-to-day operations. Committees have been formed to keep check over the quality of education provided. Extra-Curricular activities such as various sports, debating and speech competitions are organized on a regular basis.
